American Bucking Bull Inc. (ABBI) is proud to announce its expansion into Australia. PBR Australia has long been the country’s leader in the bucking bull industry, and ABBI is proud to now be a part of taking Australia’s bucking bull genetics and competitions to the next level with the formation of ABBI Australia.
“Australia has some phenomenal bucking bulls with unique bloodlines not found in either ABBI America’s or ABBI Canada’s DNA registries,” said ABBI Executive Director Jay Daugherty. “Australia’s bucking bull genetics will now be formally preserved and recorded and we are excited to play a part in preserving the legacy of their champion stock.”
Along with the formation of a DNA registry, ABBI Australia will also start holding bucking bull competitions similar to ABBI America and ABBI Canada events.
“It has been a long time coming and with increased interest amongst Australian bull breeders and event promoters it was time to green-light the development of ABBI here in Australia,” explained PBR Australia General Manager Glen Young. “This is a great opportunity for our sport and especially the bull breeding industry- not only nationally, but for ABBI internationally. Australia has always looked upon the USA as a supplier of new genetics to their bloodlines,” explained Young. “Hopefully in the future we will see Australian genetics being used internationally, as has happened with the beef industry.”
Gavin Tickle will be overseeing the Australian arm of ABBI International. It will be run under the same rules and guidelines as ABBI.
“Just as PBR has embraced the best bull riders from around the world, ABBI wants to promote and develop the best bucking bull talent- no matter what continent it comes from,” stated Daugherty. “The global expansion of ABBI International benefits our members in America, Canada and Australia- and any future markets we develop branches in. We are thrilled with the success ABBI Canada is having, and we look forward to what ABBI Australia will accomplish.”
