RICHARDSON WINS FIRST NIGHT OF RANCHMAN’S PBR BULLBUSTIN’

CALGARY, Alberta – Lachlan Richardson (Gresford, NSW, Australia) won the PBR Canada Touring Pro Division’s Ranchman’s PBR Bullbustin’ in support of the Society for the Treatment for Autism presented by Wolseley Canada.

Through private donations, the 50/50 and event Calcutta, $30,000 was raised in support of the Society for the Treatment of Autism.

Richardson who first made his debut in Canada in 2012, rode Slick Cat (Outlaw Buckers Rodeo Corp.) for 83 points in Round 1 en-route to his first event win in 2018. In the Championship Round the 25-year-old put up his highest score of the season, 89.5 points on Willy Wonka (Girletz Rodeo Stock).

For his effort, Richardson earned $4,743.00 CAD and 60 world points. At the beginning of the night the Australian bull rider ranked No. 62 in the PBR’s World Standings. At the end of Tuesday, he could be as high as No. 55.

Second overall went to Prince Albert, Saskatchewan’s Tanner Byrne.

Byrne won Round 1 with an 85.5 on Simple Man (Vold Rodeo) and added a second 85.5 in the Championship Round on One For The Money (Vold Rodeo). The No. 21 man in the world standings earned $4,054.50 and 30 world points.

In his second PBR Canada event in as many nights, Matt Triplett (Columbia Falls, Montana) finished third on Tuesday, one place ahead of his placing on Monday night in Cluny, Alberta.

Triplett rode Oklahoma Blues (Girletz Rodeo Stock) for 83 points in Round 1 and took Tequila Jax (Vold Rodeo) to the 8-second whistle and a score of 86 points. The 27-year-old PBR veteran earned $2,371.50 and 20 world points. 

Beginning his season on April 28th, Triplett now ranks in the No. 44 spot in the PBR World Standings.

Cody Coverchuk (Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan) the current No. 61 bull rider in PBR’s World Standings after Tuesday, is also the new No. 3 in the PBR Canada Standings 499.2 points behind No. 1 Brock Radford.

A 2-for-2 performance won him $1,377.00, 15 world points and 113.3 Canadian points for fourth place. In Round 1 Coverchuk rode Berry Creek (Vold Rodeo) for 83 points and added 84.5 points on Oz (Vold Rodeo) in the Championship Round.

Saskatchewan finished in three of the top 5 positions with Lumsden’s Tim Lipsett in fifth. Lipsett rode Just Sayin’ (Vold Rodeo) in Round 1 and Wild Child (Girletz Rodeo Stock) in the Championship Round for 157.5 points on two. The 24-year-old earned $642.60 and 10 world points. 

Mr. Sunshine (Outlaw Buckers Rodeo Corp.) was the high-marked bull of the event, scoring 44.5-points bucking off Edgar Durazo in 2.69 seconds in the Championship Round.

PBR Canada Touring Pro Division action continues on Wednesday July 4th in Calgary at the Ranchman’s PBR Bullbustin’ in support of the Canadian Mental Health Association presented by Victory Lab. Action gets underway at 7:00 p.m. MT and is being broadcasted live on RidePass.com.
